The kin8 MDC equips researchers with the tools, knowledge and support to learn and apply kin8’s proven research translation methodology. Combining on-line learning, and action weeks of activity based learning where participants are set up and supported to apply learning in the real world, this unique approach to impact training guides researchers through a real-time translation process.
With live access to kin8’s highly experienced facilitators, the exclusive kin8 network and kin8’s global partners, researchers gain important skills to develop their careers, and can make real progress in progressing the translation of their project to create impact.

Never has it been more important for researchers to increase their translation skills and capability. Funding is scarce and opportunities for research investment will become more competitive. Institutions will highly value researchers with the skills and knowledge of how to secure funding and partners, and to realise impact.
Translation to impact is a complicated journey that requires researchers to engage a wide range of stakeholders, see and make connections to identify value, and act on these connections to secure funding to bring new innovations to the world. kin8’s Market Discovery Course provides a proven systematic approach to manage this process and an access point to potential partners that can increase the speed and success of your impact translation.

Week 3: How to engage potential partners, customers, collaborators, investors
Week 4 - 6: Engaging potential partners, customers, collaborators (practical)
Week 7: Reflection week and mid-program review
Week 8: Structuring your research innovation for testing
Week 9: How to run experiments
Week 10 - 11: Run experiments (practical)
Week 12: Reflection week and program conclusion
Core learning - approx 2 hours per week
Additional practical - approx 2-3 per week (optional)

The course is delivered 100% virtually, and combines learning videos, live sessions, practical resources, real-world activities, mentoring, and facilitator support to guide you through a real-time translation process.
